Selenite castle

selenite castle

This Selenite Castle is of the Gypsum variety of selenite, and commonly found in the United States in white, gray, or clear colors. When this stone is selected during a Stone Reading, it often indicates the need for a strong focus on the home, or a desire and motivation to update, personalize, rearrange, convert or reclaim one’s living space.

Selenite, found on all seven continents, is in my opinion, quite probably found throughout the galaxies. Those drawn to Selenite often “know” things, as if they are receiving or absorbing information from “elsewhere.”

Industry has found many uses for Selenite, including the construction of windows for spacecrafts. Selenite is also used to make the plasterboards that are used to build walls.

A “Selenite Person” is somewhat like a wall in that he or she listens and hears everything, yet can keep a secret and will never betray a confidence.

Selenite is a stone of wonder. Legend has it that the wizards of old could record their memories into blades of Selenite, to preserve their wisdom, insights, and experiences.  “Selenite People” are tied into the magic and enchantment of earth, and feel a particular closeness with the waters. They value the truth, and know from their own experience that they have the courage of their convictions.

Physically Selenite is soft and fragile, but metaphysically it is a stone of power and signifies major transitions. Often “Selenite People” feel that they have a mission or something important that they know they must accomplish. They are phenomenal teachers and know things that they have no logical means of knowing.

Of course, in an actual Stone Reading, you will have an opportunity to select from a large tray filled with several hundred stones. This write-up is meant as a little tid-bit of what might possibly be mentioned in your personal Stone Reading, should your selection include this Selenite Castle.

Mahogany Obsidian

Mahogany Obsidian

This brown and black egg-shaped stone is known as Mahogany Obsidian and is from my collection.

Many years ago, when first becoming aware of all the magic tucked away inside various Rock Shops, I picked up a chunk of Mahogany Obsidian, examined it, instantly decided that I MUST have this rock, and excitedly showed it to my friend. To my utter amazement, she didn’t share my enthusiasm, muttered something about this treasure being “just glass” and continued with what she was doing. It didn’t take long for me to realize that even if it was “just glass,” the Mahogany Obsidian that I had stumbled upon was a beautiful and unique gem!

Mahogany Obsidian, a natural volcanic glass, is a product of rapidly cooling magma with minimal crystal growth. Because of a high concentration of iron, it has reddish-brown coloring, with black inclusions, and resembles fine grains of mahogany wood.

I consider most of the Obsidians to be aligned with an individual who is quite different from his peers. An “Obsidian Person” frequently has his motivations called into question, and struggles with the knowledege that most people do not understand him, or look for some non-existent hiddent agenda. Most people do not understand or “get” an “Obsidian Person.”

Those drawn to Obsidian will go out of their way to assist others, motivated by a sincere desire to lend a hand, yet their actions are misinterpreted or misunderstand. Thus, an “Obsidian Person” who voluntarily stays late in a sincere effort to help a co-worker get caught up is immediately perceived as someone who is “bucking for a promotion” or “purposely making the rest of us look lazy,” or in some way, shape or form, is not to be trusted!

Individual who are drawn to Mahogoney Obsidian are passsionate, and place a high value on friendship. They may believe they have only a handful of friends, yet there are many who cherish relationships formed with “Mahogany Obsidian People.” Mahogany Obsidian People” feel a deep connection to the forests and have a profound reverence and respect for trees. They genuinely enjoy children, and are born “Story Tellers,” able to teach children important moral lessons without resorting to fear or the aid of ‘ugly step-mothers’ and ‘wicked witches.’

This particular Mahogany Obsidian was cut and polished to look like an egg. It symbolizes new beginnings, things going on just beneath the surface, changes that are about to happen, periods where extra protection may be needed, and life itself.

”In the words of C. S. Lewis, “It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad.”

Of course, this is just a tidbit of information concerning the stone and the person who is aligned with this stone.

If you need a little reminder that, “You, too, are a gem!” or would like some rock solid advice that might help you reconnect with your inner sparkle and magic, consider a Stone Reading with “The Stone Lady!”

Citrine

Citrine

This Golden Brown Citrine Crystal is approximately two inches high, and has a beautiful brown sparkle on the top, with clear quartz coloring in the middle, and orange colorations near the base of the stone. Some have commented that this piece looks very much like a honey-coated confection, leading me to suspect that there is something very sweet in store for those who might select this stone during a Stone Reading.

Citrine is a variety of yellow quartz that is rarely found in nature. The name comes from a word meaning lemon yellow. Citrine can be found in shades of yellow, orange, and reddish browns. For the past 200 years most of the Citrine on the market has been created by a process called “burning” or heat-treating lower grades of Amethyst to temperatures between 470 and 560 degrees. Because of the process of heating Amethyst, one association I make with the “Citrine Person” is that they are able to “take the heat.” A “Citrine Person” will invariably rise to the occasion when “the heat is on.” Sometimes, however, when this stone appears during a Stone Reading, there is a little caution the wisdom of not burning bridges too soon!
In lore and legend, Citrine is associated with success, money, prosperity, and abundance. It is sometimes called a “Merchant’s Stone,” and many business owners place Citrine in their cash registers. Because of its early beginnings as Amethyst, I often see similar qualities in “Citrine People” and the “Amethyst Person.” Both have a strong belief system, a tendency to search for quality rather than quantity, and a tendency to try and accomplish too much in too short a time!
Every stone and person is unique, and a different aspect of Citrine’s personality may be more evident in your personal Stone Reading than in this “tidbit” of information on Citrine. For example, this stone might suggest that something will turn out to be “a piece of cake” to one person, but to another person, the stone might be a message on the need to rise above the stress.

Zebra Jasper

Zebra Jasper
Zebra Jasper, usually found as a black and white striped tumbled stone, can also be found in gren and white, as well as brown and white stripes.
Jaspers are found worldwide, in almost every color. Some cultures considered Jaspers to be a direct gift from God, crediting Jaspers with bringing joy into life and helping to balance one’s energies.
Zebra Jasper reminds us of the opposites and dualities that exist in our lives, and the need for balance. The stripes on Zebra Jasper suggest the importance of celebrating one’s uniqueness and individuality. The stripes resemble the stripes on zebras, animals known to blend in with the herd to confuse their predators. This stone is helpful to those who wish to understand and work through challenges, contradictions, and mixed messages.
When selected during a Stone Reading, Zebra Jasper usually indicates someone who is open-minded, nonjudgmental, and capable of listening to all sides, yet remains true to their own conscious. “Zebra Jasper People” have learned the secrets to blending in when necessary.
During a Stone Reading, Zebra Jasper is frequently selected by lawyers, police, and those who have a strong interest in law, fairness, and justice. Another trait common among “Zebra Jasper People” is a strong, empathetic connection with the animal realms.
This write-up is just a small sampling of information that might be shared when Zebra Jasper appears during a Stone Reading. Each person is unique, and each Stone Reading is specifically tailored to the individual. A Stone Reading with “The Stone Lady” may shed some clarity on your present situation, while helping you to remember that you, too, are a gem!
